I don’t know what this will say about me, but this new year, this is my new favorite song – Halfway to Heaven by POP ETC.
Also, POP ETC is my new favorite band! Yaaayy!!! 😀
Fun facts: 1) according to Spotify, they’re originally called The Morning Benders, and when they learned that the term “benders” is a homophobic slur in some parts of the UK, they decided to change their name because they love their fans that much. Sweet! ❤
2) Their song "Speak Up" is a part of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt.2's original soundtrack. So if you're a fan of the series (either the books and/or the films), you better check that out if you haven't yet. 😉
The first time I heard this song at Old Navy during my shift, I fell in love with it. Now it's on my Spotify and their album has been playing on repeat ever since!
What I love about this song, first of all, is the melody. Old Navy plays a lot of music but half of it is not my type and this song was just very spot on the first time I heard it. The music is clean and very soothing, and when work gets rough and dragging, I hear this song and poof! Everything's okay again. 🙂
I also love the lyrics. I can relate a lot. I'm a very confused person; when life hands me lemons, I cry because I don't know where to put them since I already have so much in my hands. Lol.
